The recently organized citizen's protective league of East Boston held a largely attended meeting in Ohel Jacob synagogue yesterday afternoon, the purpose being to devise means to rid certain of East Boston streets of rowdies, who it is alleged, have of late been assaulting aged Hebrews. It was only last week in the local court that an East Boston young man was sentenced to six months in the house of correction for assaulting Wolf Shulmans.
