When I looked out from a crack in the Alamo's northern wall, I could see that the Mexicans had tightened a ring around the Alamo.

I saw two Mexican 9-pounders across the river continuing to pound the west wall.

I saw bombs lobbed into the Alamo by howitzers!

Could things get any worse?
